NCRHA AGM

The NCRHA AGM is on 8th July 2012 – due to be held immediately following the cup finals, which are at Arcadia, Manchester.

The AGM will be at the Inspire Centre which is a 150metre walk from Arcadia which is booked from 1pm – 3pm. Thanks to Manchester RHC for offering to host.

Announcement from the President

The NCRHA are pleased to anounce that they have been awarded £4653 by Sport England, which is Lottery Funded, to run Referee and Coaching courses for our Region. A recent course was held at Middlesbrough and further training will be available from the famous International Referee, Louis Rei, at the Inter Regional Competition in Peterborough - details from Mike Richardson. Don't worry if you can't make it to Peterborough, as courses and a mini tournament for testing is being planned to be held in the Region in September and this will be run by Carlos Amaral.

Time Change Announcement

Can all secretarys please note the change of start time at the under thirteens tournament to be held at whitcliffe mount. This is now a 12pm start time instead of the 1.15pm previously arranged time. Due to the fact that this time has now changed can all clubs please inform their under elevens team that the cup qualifiers are now to be taking part on the 13/05/2012 start time 9am - 2pm.

NCRHA - Cup Finals

Congratulations to all of the teams who took part in the NCRHA cup finals. NCRHA would also like to thank all of the referees this season. With out these committed individuals we would not be able to run our leagues and cup competitions.

The NCRHA committee would also like to thank Nicola Barret for her work as the NCRHA CRB officer over the last season and welcome Dave Fothergill as the new officer in this position.

NCRHA Regional Teams Announced!

Dear NCRHA members,

Below are the selected squads for this years inter-regional championships. Pete and I apologies in advance for the delay in releasing the squads, however this has been unavoidable as information regarding what age-groups were being contested and the venues for the competitions were not released until late last night (Saturday 20th March 2011).

Prior to releasing the names of the squads, Pete and I feel we must first mention that this year the NCRHA will not be entering the Under 15's Ladies competition, this is due to no other region entering a team at this level. Additionally, NCRHA will not be entering a Under 20's team, this is because the Under 17's competition is being held on the same day. Pete and I both feel that entering both the Under 20's and Under 17's competitions would lessen our chances of winning the Under 17's competition as the vast majority of players would be required to play in both squads. Pete and I apologies if this causes any issues or upset to players and parents, however we feel we have acted in the best interests of the NCRHA.

To clarify, the NCRHA are therefore entering the following teams:

2 x Under 11 teams – (To be held at Peterborough on Sunday 1st May 2011) – To be managed by Dan Messenger.

1 x Under 13' team – (To be held at Peterborough on Monday 2nd May 2011) – To be managed by Dan Messenger and Pete Atherton.

2 x Under 15 teams – (To be held at Peterborough on Saturday 30th April 2011) – To be managed by Dan Messenger and Pete Atherton.

1 x Under 17 team – (To be held at Soham on Sunday 1st May 2011) – To be managed by Pete Atherton.

1 x Over 15's Ladies – (To be held at Soham on Sunday 1st May 2011) – TO be managed by Pete Atherton.

A happy new year to every one!

With the poor weather conditions during November and December I am currently working on rearranging all of the affected fixtures. Please urge your club secretaries to reply promptly to requests for information.

A revised calendar will be issued as soon as it is available.

Also, I am still waiting to hear from Manchester, SVF, Plymouth and Sheffield regarding NCRHA Cup Entries.

Boro go Euro

This weekend Middlesbrough Roller Hockey Club go to HC Braga in Portugal to play their first round away game of the CERS cup.

After winning the National Cup last year the club qualified for the competition and are now looking forward to putting their skills to the test against the very best in Europe.
