The association's first girls development day brought more than thirty players to Stocksbridge Community Leisure Centre in Sheffield, from complete beginners to league regulars.
Sessions ran across the day covering skating, stick skills and small sided games, led by coaches from four member clubs with senior players acting as mentors. A friendly festival closed the afternoon.
Girls now make up a growing share of junior registrations across the association and several clubs are working toward dedicated girls sessions. A second development day is planned for the winter break.
